Friendship Flotilla
Jacob Harvey of North Charleston was one of a couple dozen people who stayed on shore at Shem Creek displaying Israeli and American flags while more than 300 other Christians and Jews rode on boats from Shem Creek to The Battery and back as part of a Friendship Flotilla to show support for Israel Sunday.
People along Shem Creek and Charleston Harbor and The Battery will see an unusual sight Sunday – more than a dozen boats flying American and Israeli flags expected. It's a pro-Israeli rally called Friendship Flotilla, organized by local Jewish groups called Chabad of Charleston and the Lowcountry and Friends of Israel Always.I figure a lot of people will see the boats and flags and we can tell them what it was about.
